Food Review: One Pot (一锅) Steamboat at Jalan Benaan Kapal | Affordable Hotpot Dining Experience tucked away in Kallang

The Place Located at Kallang, One Pot is housed within an old -school coffee shop which is seemingly stuck in time. The coffee shop is beside the various indoor futsal courts in Kallang, within walking distance from the National Stadium MRT Station.

While there are various other stalls in the coffee shop, One Pot is the only stall operating in the evening. Having said, the coffee shop fills up quickly during our visit, and they had to turn down customers without reservation, so do make sure you reserve before heading down!

The Food Visit One Pot if you are looking for a no frills steamboat, complete with a nostalgic vibe of the good old days with the basic look of a zinc-roof structured coffee shop. Choose between the Beef or Pork Set (S$28 for 2 pax / S$48 for 4 pax), which will come complete with other steamboat staples. Presented nicely in a wooden box, the set comes with prawns, fish balls, luncheon meat, crab-stick, chicken egg, quail eggs, tau kee, cabbage and vermicelli.

The broth here is prepared with premium Japanese pork bone. Do expect a light broth for a start, with the soup getting more flavourful as you cook the ingredients.

For more ingredients beyond the fixed set, pick from a array of selections packed neatly at the store front. Top favourites includes the SK Meat Dumpling (S$3) and SK Meatball (S$3). Understood that both the items are made freshly at the store daily, and may get sold out early each night.

If you are a fan of Pork Liver (S$3), One Pot has it. And make sure you get an order of the Shrimp Wanton (S$4.50) too.

If you are keen for more meats, you can order extra servings of either the pork or Beef Ribeye (S$8).

Rants Reservation is a must. And if it is your first time here, finding the coffee shop will be an adventure by itself.

Will I Return Again? Overall, One Pot offers home-style steamboat, but with premium ingredients. Reasonable pricing, friendly service, nostalgic location and enjoyable food. One Pot is one to return for.
