Food Review: Zipp Burger & Pasta At Amoy Street Food Centre | Affordable And Modern Western Food Hawker Concept In CBD [Closed]

The Place Located in Amoy Street Food Centre, Zipp Burger & Pasta is run by a group of young hawkers and serves affordable burgers and pastas. Amoy Street is a busy hawker centre and there are no lack of good food options here, though there has also been modern hawker concepts in this hawker centre in the past few years such as A Noodle Story and the two years old Zipp Burger & Pasta.

The Food I haven’t been to the hawker stall physically, but managed to try the food for the first time during this circuit breaker period. With burgers from S$5.70, it is a fairly competitive price by hawker standards.

For burgers, I had the classic Hamburger (S$5.70) and Pork Burger (S$5.70). For the portion and size, it is good value and I like that both the beef and pork patties are juicy. The patties here are all freshly made in-house, and the burger bun is lightly grilled, though I will prefer that the bun is grilled longer to give it a more crisp texture.

Pasta is the other highlight here, where you get to customise your own ingredients. Choose from either the handmade tomato base or the aglio olio base, and pair it with options such as smoked duck, chorizo sausage and prawns or veggies such as broccoli, baby spinach and mushrooms. I had the Prawn & Bacon Aglio Olio (S$7.70), where you can expect an al dente texture.

Other sides to have are the Beef Balls (S$4/6 pieces), Pork Balls (S$4/6 pieces), Truffle Fries (S$5.20) and Cheese Fries (S$5.20).

Delivery charges at S$5-S$10 islandwide.

Rants Depending on where you stay, just be cautious that fries do not travel very well with time if you are doing a food delivery.

Will I Return Again? Zipp Burger & Pasta certainly stands out as a concept in Amoy Street and is not just like any other fast food concepts. For an affordable western food grub, it is worth trying if you work in the CBD, or as a delivery option during this trying period.
