Food Review: Hup Seng Duck Rice At Sin Ming | One Of The Best Braised Duck Rice In Singapore

The Place Located at Sin Ming, Hup Seng Duck Rice has been a mainstay for many when it comes to braised duck rice. Located in the midst of a HDB estate that was built in the 1970s. Head to Hup Seng early to avoid a long queue, especially during the weekends.

The Food In addition to braised duck, Hup Seng dishes out other braised items including their popular braised pork belly. Another signature item includes Salted Vegetable Duck Soup. The latter should not be missed for sure.

Starting with their Braised Duck, the meats are very tender and well-seasoned. The Teochew-styled braised sauce whilst light, packs much punch. Go easy on the sauce when you drizzle your rice with it, though if you are like me and love strong flavours, feel free to give yourself a generous pour of the sauce.

Make very sure to order their Salted Vegetable Duck Soup. The slightly peppery broth comes with duck meats which are surprisingly tender despite being boiled for hours. Very wholesome soup, completing the meal here at Hup Seng.

We have had their braised pork belly in our previous visits, do order a portion of that too.

Rants The queue can get a tad too long at times.

Will I Return Again? Hup Seng Duck Rice ranks amongst my favourite braised duck rice stall in Singapore, and have been visiting it since – and not least in the future.
