Asin
Located at 38 Carpenter Street, ASIN (pronounced Ace-in) is a new fine dining restaurant by Chef Ace Tan (previously of ASU) and his new partner Desmond Heng of Suguru. At ASIN, Chef Ace brings Progressive Asian Cuisine to a more elevated level, a genre he developed over the years. The cuisine draws from the four seasons of Asia and the bold, expressive flavours of Southeast Asia, creating an elemental balance. Techniques learned by him in French, Japanese and Italian kitchens across the world merge naturally with shi liao (食疗), shaping dishes that honour the culinary traditions and seasonal rhythms of Asia through a modern lens. At the progressive Asian atelier, ancient food practices add depth, brightness and complexity are celebrated – especially pickles, ferments and preserves. Expect an 8-course dinner menu at S$188++.

SukiyakiJIN
Les Amis Group’s Japanese Collective has quietly added a new name to the Orchard Road dining scene, and it is one that is clearly engineered for visual impact as much as flavour. Opened on 2 May 2026, SukiyakiJIN sits on the first level of Shaw Centre, positioning itself as a casual yet theatrical take on Japanese sukiyaki — headlined by its rather dramatic A5 Wagyu Spicy Tomato “Mountain” Sukiyaki. The main highlight here is the Signature Tomato Sukiyaki (S$48++ per person, minimum two diners). The tomato base is bright and tangy, underpinned by a house blend of four different shoyu. The flavour is bold and slightly unexpected, and there is also another twist – freshly chopped chilli padi on the side to add to the broth to suit the local palate. Satori
A new addition to Amoy Street this month, Satori is a Japanese yakitori restaurant beside Sodeng, which dishes yakitori sticks from only S$3.80. Satori is helmed by Chef Wilson, a disciple of Chef Shyong who is behind Sapõto. The interior of Satori is a departure from the traditional yakitori aesthetic as it takes on a bold aesthetic of deep crimson tones and cinematic lighting. There are over 50 options of grilled skewers and more. Chicken offers the most classic cuts of Torikawa Skin (S$4.80), Momo Thigh (S$5.80), Tebakawa Wing Tip Skin (S$5.80) and Tebamoto Drumlet (S$5.80). If you are undecided about what skewers to go for, there is a Chef’s Selection Yakitori Set (7 Skewers, S$29.80) which includes 4 Chicken Cuts, 1 Chicken Organ & 2 Vegetable. [Read more here for our full review]

JIHO Samgyetang SBCD
Korean Samgyetang is definitely brewing a storm in Singapore in the past year, with the latest addition in the CBD of Singapore being JIHO Samgyetang SBCD. Located at basement one of 18 Cross Street, JIHO Samgyetang SBCD is a partnership between JIHOHanbang Samgyetang and SBCD F&B Group, where the former has been simmering samgyetang in Korea since 1991 with over 80 locations across Korea, Sydney and Shanghai. SBCD F&B Group is most famously known for running SBCD Korean Tofu House in Singapore. With 35 years of samgyetang heritage behind it, every bowl is rooted in hanbang, the centuries-old Korean practice of herbal medicine. At JIHO Samgyetang  SBCD, the signature Healthy Samgyetang features a patented mixture of Korean traditional herbs to relieve fatigue and support joint health. In addition to Healthy Samgyetang, the menu features five other samgyetang varieties, each built around a distinct ingredient story, as well as samgyejuk, specialities, meals and sides. Read more here for our full review]

999.99 Five Nines
Back after 10 years from Shunsui Group’s very first venture along Keong Saik Road, 999.99 Five Nines returns with a new concept at Cuppage Plaza, one of the most interesting buildings in Orchard Road with a high density of Japanese restaurants. Located on level four just a few doors from Skewers, the interior of 999.99 Five Nines is casual with a few tables and counter seats. The interior takes on a black masculine vibe. The concept here is centred around western plates, sake, and a “no borders” philosophy without being tied to a single cuisine style. Choose from ala carte options or there is a S$99++ dinner course (U.P. S$122++) per pax inclusive of free-flow alcohol which includes wine, sake and umeshu. You can customise some of the courses.

Buzzing Restaurants

New Anniversary Appreciation Menu At Saint Pierre
Has it been 25 years already? Located at One Fullerton just beside Shoukouwa, the Two Michelin-starred Saint Pierre is led by Chef-Owner Emmanuel Stroobant. The restaurant overlooks the marina, and it is a beautiful view of iconic landmarks in Singapore like Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer. The food at Saint Pierre reflects an expression of contemporary French cuisine guided by subtle Asian influences. In celebration of their 25th year milestone, the restaurant launched a specially curated Anniversary Appreciation Menu, available from April through to the end of June from Tuesdays to Thursdays. It is a four-course dinner menu priced at $288++ per person. [Read more here for our full review]

New Menu At Temper
One of our favourite wine room in Singapore at the moment. Can’t believe it has been a year since Temper Wine Room & Lounge opened, where it spots a new menu after a year, shaped by Executive Chef Nicolas Tam of Michelin-starred Willow and Head Chef Ronald Sim. Expect new dishes across starters, seafood, plates, platters, sides and desserts. For a start, go for the Petit French Dip which comes with sliced beef, emmental cheese, toasted bun, and a side of beef broth to dip. For those seeking a premium cut, there is now Hanwoo Striploin on its menu, and fun additions also include the Pizza Shaker Fries served in a paper bag for shaking and sharing at the table. If you prefer a safe bet, we say the Crispy Chicken won’t go that wrong. Seafood options include the likes of their fresh and plump oysters from Normandy and Brittany; as well as Crab & Caviar Royale. Desserts include Moscato Jelly, Mushroom Ice Cream (yes, this is interesting and we can also imagine it to be a polarising one). Our favourite dessert here is their signature Skillet Orange Cake served warm with smoky vanilla oil and pistachio ice cream. For beverages, the wine list also spots new allocations from Burgundy, Germany and Alsace.

New 6-Course Wagyu Omakase At Fat Cow
The new 6-course menu is priced at S$238++ per person and available for both lunch and dinner at Fat Cow. The menu centres on Akune Gold A5 Wagyu from the Kagoshima Prefecture, one of Japan’s most highly regarded cattle-farming regions. Helmed by Head Chef Shingo Iijima, the refreshed wagyu omakase reflects a disciplined washoku philosophy and draws from the kaiseki tradition, aiming to deliver a sense of renewal with every visit. Each course showcases a different cut of Wagyu and distinct Japanese cooking techniques, where you can expect dishes like Wagyu Tartare topped with Quail Egg, Kaluga Caviar, Kombu-cured Mizuna, and Gold Leaf; Shabu-Shabu Wagyu Soup; Straw-Seared Wagyu Tataki; Wagyu Teriyaki; and Charcoal-Grilled Akune Gold A5 Wagyu served with Donabe Fat Rice.

New Saturday Brunch Buffet At Osteria Mozza
Osteria Mozza is known for their pizzas and pastas, how about a buffet version of all of these? The restaurant just launched their new Saturday Brunch Buffet where you can expect fresh antipasti from house-made focaccia to shrimp pasta salad. The live stations include everyone’s favourite pizzas & pastas alongside grilled meats and an array of desserts. The other highlights for us are the five exclusive order-to-table dishes, including Blueberry Pancake crafted from Chef Nancy’s signature recipe, Grass-fed Steak & Eggs, Meatballs with Whipped Ricotta, and more.

Neon Pigeon
Neon Pigeon is one of those restaurants in Singapore that wears its personality loudly—and unapologetically so. Tucked away in the slightly quieter stretch of Carpenter Street, this modern Japanese joint leans hard into a Tokyo-meets-izakaya-meets-Singapore-after-dark aesthetic, complete with pulsing music, dim lighting, and a buzz that feels more party than polite dinner. If you do not know what to order, the restaurant also has a new Flock Feeder menu recently. Priced at S$108++ per person, you get seven dishes and two cocktails per guest, with a mix of signatures and off-menu favourites like “Otah” Prawn Toast, Hamachi Roll and Tokyo Peking Duck.

Tiong Bahru Bakery Raffles City Reopens With New Pastry Line-Up & Fresh Concept
We checked out Tiong Bahru Bakery new revamped outlet at Raffles City basement and other than the refreshed look, we also spotted new dessert items in addition to their staple bakes. Our favourite new items are the Peach Oolong  Entremet – a delicate creation that layers fragrant oolong mousse over soft almond sponge, with a bright peach compote centre; and the King Jasmine Guava Tart which is a light tart with jasmine-infused chantilly, guava confit, and a hint of lime. The Bergamot Lavender Tart is also an interesting one. It is designed in the form of a spring daisy and this tart pairs a smooth bergamot crémeux with a lavender ganache. Set in a vanilla tart shell and finished with light vanilla chantilly. Other new additions include a reimagined Mont Blanc, Black Sesame Choux, Pistachio Bombe, and Matcha Basque Cheesecake!
