It’s the time of the year again, welcome to the last month of the year. December is always one month we look forward to, made up of Christmas, New Year Eve and a certain Panda’s birthday! Afterall, who doesn’t like the excuse of feasting and legitimate shopping? If you have not planned for your festive gathering or takeaways, we have sussed out 13 recommendations this season!


1. Bakerzin

Bakerzin has launched a “Home for Christmas” theme, from festive sweets to savoury delights. Some of the must haves Christmas delights include the Peranakan Roast Capon, marinated in a Peranakan spice mix for more than 48 hours and slow roasted to tender perfection, accompanied with homemade Peranakan sauce and roasted potatoes and carrots. The Fusion Gammon Ham has a kumquat and ginger flower sweet glaze and is accompanied by homemade kumquat and ginger flower sauce.

Some of the notable festive sweets include the likes of Apple Pistachio Yule Log, made from Pistachio dacquoise, homemade apple jam with diced apples and infused with Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka, apple mousse and pistachio mousse, as well as the Santa’s Chocolate Yule Log Rich chocolate chiffon cake with luscious Valrhona chocolate mousse, blackberry coulis and hazelnut crunch.

2. Conrad Centennial Singapore

Starting November 27, the Terrace at Conrad Centennial Singapore is presenting six new flavours of log cakes in the traditional buttercream and modern mousse varieties by Executive Pastry Chef Bruno Philippe. One of the new innovative flavours is the Duet Chocolate Truffle Araguani and Pépites Nougatine, which use rare Venezuelan cocoa beans. Other flavours include the Bûche de Noël Abinao Chocolate “Grue” Cacao Nibs, and Bûche De Noël Coffee Macchiato, amongst others.
For the buffet line at Oscar’s, some of the highlights of the festive buffet line-up include starters such as King Crab and Smoked Paprika Espuma, Lobster with Vanilla Bean Emulsion, and Home-Made Gravlax of Green Tea Wild Salmon. Then followed with scrumptious mains fare of Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing and Spicy Cranberry Sauce, Australian Beef Prime Rib with Wild Mushrooms and Mustard, and Glazed Suckling Pig with Raisins and Confit Shallot; as well as an array of freshest seafood including Bamboo Lobster, Alaskan King Crab, and a selection of nine types of Oysters. 3. FORT by Maison Ikkoku

Available from 20 November to 31 December 2015, the three-course Festive Menu at FORT by Maison Ikkoku is priced at a very affordable S$38++ per person and cocktail pairing is available for an additional $20++ for two unique festive cocktails. Start your festive dinner with a surprise Starter of the Day, which changes every day based on the ingredients available. For mains, indulge in the Holiday Turkey comprising two succulent turkey breast medallions marinated with a mix of herbs and spices and cooked sous-vide style, best paired with the Santa Red cocktail.

4. The Fullerton Bay Hotel

For one of the best city view of Singapore, it has to be The Fullerton Bay Hotel.

At Triple Three restaurant, Mandarin Orchard Singapore, the Christmas and New Year buffet spreads include the restaurant’s Signature Pineapple Honey Glazed Ham, Roasted Stuffed Turkey with Champagne Dill Sauce and luscious festive desserts such as log cakes, stolen and fruit cakes.
