Food Review: The Garden Restaurant at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa | Enjoy an Organic Brunch Buffet in a Garden Setting

The Place Located at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, The Garden Restaurant is one restaurant which is easily missed due to its elusive location. The restaurant is not located at the main hotel building but housed within a separate building, where Sofitel’s So Spa is located. True to its name, the restaurant interior feels like a mini garden due to the indoor plants and a view of the pool exclusive for So Spa guests.

The Food One strong direction of The Garden restaurant is its organic menu, where the kitchen uses organic produce and sustainable ingredients to prepare the dishes. The restaurant has an organic brunch buffet on the last Saturday of each month, from S$78++ per person which includes free flow organic juices and soft drinks.

There is also another option at S$98++ per person, which include free flow of organic wines (Marius Blanc and Marius Rouge Grenache Syrah by M. Chapoutie), juices and soft drinks. The price include a good mix of warm and cold dishes, which include dishes like Australian organic beef carpaccio, organic salmon tartare with pickled beetroot, New Zealand free range organic eggs with hay-smoked green asparagus, organic Australian braised short rib of beef and gluten-free pancakes with vegan ice cream.

My favourites for the starters include the New Zealand Free Range Organic Eggs and the Organic Salmon Tartare with Pickled Beetroot, especially the former which is present in gourmet nested presentation, similar to the ones I had at 2-Michelin Starred Odette previously.

For mains, we tried both the Wasabi Miso Glaze Organic Salmon and the Organic Australian Braised Short Rib Beef, both of which are hard to go wrong though the flavours are very safe without much surprise.

Desserts are less impressive. I didn’t fancy the gluten-free pancakes or the chocolate brownies. The best and most refreshing dessert here for me after an organic meal is the simple Organic Aloe Vera with Mint Jelly served in Whole Siam Coconut.

Rants Admittedly, it is relatively inconvenient to get to The Garden Restaurant without a car.

Will I Return Again? The Garden restaurant probably appeal to a niche market of diners who are more wellness conscious. At S$78++ per person, it is expensive and I would probably not go all the way to Sentosa just for it. That said, the restaurant has a strong garden theme from its interior to its menu and given that it will only be available once a month, it might just be that ideal well-deserved wellness treat you are looking for once in a while.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
