New Restaurants

Fat Chap
Located at Suntec City Mall, Fat Chap is a brand new dining concept by the 1855 group, which also manages restaurants like Wakanui and The Spot at Marina One. The restaurant is located at the east wing of Suntec, near to Promenade MRT station. The dining space is casual and relatively open, with a focus on Asian dishes. There’s quite a big Indonesian influence as Fat Chap’s head chef is Indonesian. Some of the dishes are also inspired by chef’s childhood memories, with a tribute to Asian street food. Komyuniti
It is definitely not a restaurant you will stumble upon. Located at Yotel Singapore, Komyuniti restaurant is a brand new concept located at level 10 of the chic hotel in Orchard Road. The name plays on the English word community, and the idea is to create a space for guests to dine, chill over drinks or even get some work done with its workspace section. The dishes and menu are designed to be for communal style dining, hence it is organised into small and big plates, with dessert at the end of the menu. The inspiration of the dishes are largely based on the chef’s globetrotting experiences, so you expect worldly elements as well.

Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari
Now you can get to enjoy your croissants and coffee in a glamping style no less. The latest hangout place in town is Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari, right in front of Open Farm Community. The whole garden space has transformed tremendously over the years and has now evolved into a mini safari literally, less the lions and tigers of course. Expect a crowd during the weekends. Bacchanalia welcomes new chef Vianney Massot onboard
Located at Hong Kong Street, there have been some changes at Bacchanalia the last one year and it is good that the concept has finally firmed up with its recent reopening. Spotting a new sleek and contemporary look, the 24-seater is now branded as Bacchanalia by Vianney Massot. Chef Vianney Massot was previously the Executive Chef of the now-defunct two Michelin-starred L’Atelier Joel Robuchon Singapore. With its new Executive Chef, the whole menu has been revamped with a culinary focus on classic French dishes where you can expect to spot familiar notes of Asian spices, something which I find quite an interesting pairing throughout the courses. There is no ala carte menu at the moment, with the Five-course Lunch Degustation at S$158++ and Seven-course Dinner Degustation at S$298++. [Read more here…]

Take in the view of Singapore skyline with a revamped food menu at LeVel 33
The modern European restaurant has undergone a revamp of its menu recently along with its new Executive Chef ArChan Chan. Food aside, the setting is split into the main indoor contemporary dining area and a sheltered terrace section, which gives a pretty awesome view of Singapore’s skyline. The culinary direction is a good transformation, we think. [Read more here…]

New location for Mr and Mrs Mohgan’s Super Crispy Roti Prata
The famous prata stall moved out of its Crane Road location some time back, and reopened recently at a coffeeshop right beside Dunman Food Centre.Expect a bigger space, and a digital queue system unlike the past where you have to manually check on your orders. Nothing much has changed in terms of menu, where they are still serving different prata flavours like Plain, Egg and Mushroom. [Read more here…]

Uni Gallery by Oosterbay celebrates first anniversary with 8 new luxurious dishes
The Uni specialty restaurant located at The Plaza has turned one, and has launched a series of new dishes. Some of the new dishes are really exotic for me, which include the likes of Uni with Ankimo (Monkfish Liver), Uni & Caviar on Tara Shirako and  Uni & Caviar with Quail Egg. Most of the new dishes are on the ala carte menu, though a better value for money option will be to go for one of its three omakase sets – Sashimi Omakase (S$118++), Uni Omakase (S$148++), and Chef’s Omakase (S$188++). In terms of space, the restaurant has also expanded to include a more intimate private dining space which can accommodate small and big groups.
