New Restaurants

Avenue 87
Located along the buzzing Amoy Street, Avenue 87 is the brainchild of two Singaporean chefs Glen and Alex. Modern Asian cuisine is the direction of the restaurant, and do expect familiar Singaporean flavours in the dishes as well. The 24-seater space of Avenue 87 is intimate and cosy, made up of banquette seats by the side and an open kitchen concept. [Read more here…]

Luke’s Lobster
The famous Luke’s Lobster has opened in Isetan Scotts at Shaw House, brought in by Caerus Holding which is behind other dining concepts like Danish confectionery brand Leckerbaer (located right opposite Luke’s Lobster) and New York cake boutique Lady M. Priced at S$25.50 for the standard US 4 oz size Lobster Roll, the Maine-style Lobster Roll is what makes Luke’s Lobster famous. Lobster roll aside, other favours include the Crab Roll and Shrimp Roll. [Read more here…]

Wado Dining
A relatively new restaurant which showcase Modern European cuisine at affordable prices, Wado Dining is located at The Promenade @ Pelikat which is about 5 minutes drive from Kovan. With an ala carte menu and set menu, the set menu is the one which caught my eye. A 3-course starts from an affordable S$23 nett, while the cheapest 4-course is S$27 nett. The choice of soup, starter and dessert are the same throughout the different variations of the set, with the exception to the choice of mains. [Read more here…]

Value For Money 6-course Scottish Seafood Set At Red House Seafood Restaurant
We call it a hidden gem by virtue of its newest location at Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel. Expect dishes such as Chilled Scottish Brown Crab, Steamed Scottish Razor Clams with Minced Garlic, Creamy Custard Lobster (one of their signature dishes) and the Alaskan King Crab Meat Pao Fan.

Mad About Sucre Reopens With Bold New Look With Forward Thinking Interior And Dishes
After a short hiatus, Mad About Sucre is back at its old location with a brand new look. We were greeted by a splash of orange the moment we stepped into the patisserie and restaurant. Beyond the counter which displays the dessert in the orange room, the dining room is played out in a spectrum of colours, and neon-like table tops. While dishes are prepared using traditional French techniques, expect unique flavours such as the French Foie Gras, Parma Ham, Fig; Handpicked Crabmeat, Blood Cockles, Preserved Lemon, Hot Sauce, Squid-Ink Linguine; and Ribeye of Pasture-Raised Pork, Grilled Aged Halloumi Cheese. A meal here is incomplete without the desserts, and we love the Autumn this season, a combination of lemon and coconut.
