Umami 10
Located at Telok Ayer Street, Umami 10 is a few months old restaurant which focuses on European-influenced Japanese cuisine. The shophouse layout of Umami 10 is segregated into the bar seats at the front, and regular tables for bigger groups towards the end of the space. The interior design is not at all Japanese, but rather dotted with gold walls and random art pieces. The dishes are split into bites, hot tapas and cold tapas, where you can spot Japanese ingredients in most dishes. It’s mainly tapas style, as another highlight of the restaurant is its range of sakes and wines to pair with the food.

Chef Kin Wanton Noodle
Helmed by ex-Crystal Jade chef Chef Chan Wing Kin, Chef Kin Wanton Noodle opened in September at Yishun Street 61 Blk 632 with people standing in line for two hours for their Wanton Noodles and within two months, it opened a second outlet in Bedok. The Bedok outlet is located in a newly opened coffeeshop and for S$5, the Wanton Noodle portion is quite generous and the soup flavour does remind me of the ones I had in Hong Kong.
