Food Scoops: New Restaurant Openings In Singapore Hotels | From Celebrity Chef Tetsuya Wakuda To The Return Of Osteria Mozza

There are quite a couple of new high profile restaurant openings this year in Singapore and interestingly, some of the noteworthy concepts are opened in hotels. Here are some of the ones to check out!

Wakuda, Marina Bay Sands
Wakuda is located at the hotel lobby and is 50 Eggs Hospitality Group’s newest concept together with world-renowned, two-Michelin-star chef Tetsuya Wakuda. The cuisine at Wakuda is a blend of traditional and modern Japanese dishes, where its interior is elegant and contemporary. Don’t leave without trying the Yuba, Fresh Bean Curd Skin from Kyoto mixed with with Hokkaido Sea Urchin and Mountain Caviar. Desserts are stellar too. [Read more here…]

Osteria Mozza, Hilton Singapore Orchard
The brand Osteria Mozza should be a familiar one, as it used to be at Marina Bay Sands before it closed, and thankfully, reopened again in Hilton Orchard Singapore this year. This is one of the very few Italian restaurants in Southern California with a Michelin Star, by Chef owner Nancy Silverton. It is a 120-seater restaurant, with a chic contemporary interior. Expect Cal-Italian cuisine; where the Singapore menu features classics from the original one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Los Angeles, as well as a number of new dishes the majority of which are completely new to Singapore. Expect the likes of Silverton’s signature handmade pastas to wood-fired dishes and antipasti from the Mozzarella Bar. [Read more here…]

Nobu, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore
A renowned dining concept by celebrity chef and restaurateur, Nobu Matsuhisa, the setting of Nobu Singapore is beautiful where the space features a designer outdoor Japanese garden which you need to walk past before reaching the main restaurant building. The menu showcases New-Style Japanese cuisine, mainly split into cold and hot dishes, tempura, sushi maki, sashimi and desserts. [Read more here…]

Sushi Yujo, Amara Hotel Singapore
This is one of our favourite omakase meals this year. Helming the kitchen at Sushi Yujo is Chef Desmond Fong with 20 years of culinary experience, specialising in omakase where he was previously the head chef at Sushi Jin, part of the Les Amis Group.  The lunch omakase starts from S$98 and dinner from S$198. The ingredients are typically flown in four times a week from Toyosu Market, and varies by seasonality. [Read more here…]

Luce by Davide Giacomelli, Intercontinental Singapore
Located at what used to be the space of Ash & Elm, Luce by Davide Giacomelli is a new Italian concept in the IHG property by Chef de Cuisine Davide Giacomelli. The dishes at Luce are a culmination of Chef de Cuisine Davide Giacomelli’s training under the tutelage of multiple Michelin-starred chefs throughout his career and pays homage to his earliest love affair – the sight, scent and flavours of classic Italian cooking at his father’s restaurant in the quaint town of Sirmione, ‘the pearl’ of Lake Garda. The menu is concise from the starters to pasta, mains and sharing plates. You won’t find pizza on Chef Davide menu if that is what you are looking for, as he wants to showcase the lesser-known but equally worthy Italian dishes. [Read more here…]
