The newest dining and lifestyle addition to National Gallery Singapore is Milli, a double-storey destination comprising of Milli: Sky Dining & Bar (Level 6) — an intimate rooftop setting where Chef LG Han and Vijay Mudaliar present a forward-looking expression of Singaporean cuisine and cocktails. The menu here is rooted in the flavours of Singaporean cuisine presented in contemporary ways, where lunch starts from S$38 for a 2-course set with add-on ala carte items available to order. Bar Kap
One of the most unexpected locations for a bar in Singapore. I first visited The House of Tan Yeok Nee early this year for Loca Niru, and there is a new addition to the historic building – Bar Kap, a cocktail bar housed in the last of Singapore’s Four Grand Mansions. Adjacent to the bar is also Jing Studio, a contemporary tea house in a minimalist setting. The cocktail program here is designed around the building’s layered history drawing on themes of Teochew heritage. For food, the menu is quite straightforward with a decent selection of bite-size snacks and heartier portions. Hikiniku To Come
Located on the first floor of VivoCity, the viral hamburg steak Hikiniku To Come has finally landed on our shores in Singapore. The space of Hikiniku To Come Singapore at VivoCity is designed around an intimate counter-style configuration where diners sit in a semi-circle surrounding the central open kitchen and smoking binchotan charcoal grills. Simplicity is key here. There is only one choice on the menu: The Hikiniku To Come Set (S$27.90++). For this price, you get three freshly grilled beef patties, a bowl of miso soup, a raw egg, and free-flow Japanese rice. Sides to add on if you wish include the likes of Potato Salad with Minced Meat (S$7.90) and Raw Kimchi (S$7.90). [Read more here for our full review]

Casa Mori
Located in Dempsey, I checked out the newly opened Casa Mori, a modern Asian fusion concept which is a collaboration between local Chef Willin Low and Spanish Chef José Alonso who is also behind Spanish restaurant Kulto. The name Casa means home in Spanish while Mori means forest in Japanese, where the interior of the restaurant takes on a soothing and neutral tone ambience. The menu is designed to be ideal for sharing, mainly organised by small plates, large plates, sides, pastas, and desserts. [Read more here for our full review]

Kong Madam
Singaporeans love Korean food, and Kong Madam is the newest addition to the bustling enclave of Bugis located at Guoco Midtown II along Tan Quee Lan Street. Helmed under a pedigree tied to Kang Ho Dong, the space of Kong Madam takes on a modern hanok-style look and it focuses on traditional Gangneung-style soft tofu, churned fresh daily. Choose from the combo set meals or go ala carte where the menu offers a wide variety of meats and soontofu combinations. Every set includes a bubbling stone pot of stew, hot stone pot rice (sotbap), free-flow barley tea, and a lineup of banchan (side dishes) featuring quail eggs, kimchi, and surprisingly, a whole, small deep-fried fish. Bae Sik Dang
Tanjong Pagar is synonymous with Korean food, and there is always room for one more Korean restaurant. The newest addition to the buzzing district is Bae Sik Dang, a retro-inspired Korean BBQ concept that takes its design cues from 1960s Seoul and references from the historic pear orchards of old Gangnam. It is open daily until 3am, which makes it an ideal late-night supper or post-drinks spot. The culinary focus here is highly specific — Naengsam, which is premium pork flash-frozen at an ultra-low -60°C and precision-sliced to a paper-thin 3mm thickness. In terms of grilling-style, the pork is is grilled the old-school way on foil-lined tabletop grills. [Read more here for our full review]

Visitors
A slice of Seoul in Tanjong Pagar? A new cafe concept by Gold Moon Restaurant Group which runs concepts like Seoul Noodle Shop and Tonshou, Visitors cafe is located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza and is proving to be a hit. The space exudes that effortless and laid-back aesthetic of Seoul’s trendy Seongsu-dong neighbourhood. The interior is beautifully framed by floor-to-ceiling glass windows that welcome plenty of natural light, where I like the soft textures of its interior such as the warm wood, low-slung sofas, and ambient lamps. It does feel like a living room, which makes it really cosy.Sandwiches and croissant are big on the menu here, so if you are a carb light person, the food options might not be up your alley. New Communal Menu At Fire at 1-Atico
Fire at 1-Atico has one of the most gorgeous views of Orchard Road and beyond. The Argentinian restaurant just launched a new Communal Menu, a curated sharing experience highlighting the soulful flavours of Argentina. Dishes to expect for dinner include shared starters like Traditional Argentine Stew (Locro Criollo), a Smoked King Crab, Mussels & Patagonian Prawn Tartlet, and a Knife-cut Beef Tenderloin Empanada. Butter Tgt Is Now At Neil Road
Butter Tgt has relocated from Duxton Road to Neil Road where the space is much bigger than before. Their brunch options include dishes like grilled cheese sandwich and grilled chicken sando, amidst other bakes like cookies, banana cake and of course, madeleines. It is quite a different vibe from its previous Duxton space, but we must say it is a good addition to Neil Road in the day!
