Food Review: Two Bakers | Artisanal bakery in Jalan Besar
The Place Located steps from The Bravery Cafe and Red Eye Smokehouse, Two Bakers is a relatively new bakery cafe helmed by two former Le Cordon Bleu Paris trained chefs. Specialising in artisanal pastries, I find it quite a visual treat to see all their pastries on display at the counter in full glory. There is also an open concept kitchen where you can watch the whole baking action.
*Two Bakers is part of our list of 22 Top Food Hunts in Jalan Besar Neighbourhood.
The Food Other than pastries, other noticeable options on the menu include the Luncheon Fries ($8.80), Two Bakers TYB ($13.80 – “Tau Yu Bak” pulled pork style) and Bow-tie Napolitana ($13.80).
I started with the Matcha Latte ($5), after hearing that the cafe uses Kyoto imported matcha for this. It was no wonder why I was so satisfied with my drink.
The Citron Chocolate Tart ($7.50) was my choice if I can only choose one dessert. I developed a strong liking for any tart lime or citron lately, yet I still remember vividly how I used to like everything chocolate. Is this a sign that age is creeping up on me? That aside, this tart probably combined two of my favourite components for pastry. I like the richness of the chocolate, which thankfully did not overpower the citron element.
Rants The arrangement of the tables were a little cramped, which was not so comfortable for us. But we can totally understand how cafes would maximise their seating capacity.
Will I Return Again? There were much more pastries such as the Eclairs and Lime Tart which I wanted to try but didn’t manage to due to my finite capacity. Two Bakers is definitely a nice spot to chill over some good pastries and coffee in your next meet-ups sessions.

neh… It isn’t a sign of old age. Just the development of more refined taste. Trust me on tt one. My taste buds are spoilt too. That being said, I do love my very expensive chocolate… *guilty look*
