Food Scoops: Raffles Hotel Singapore Introduces A New Sunday Brunch Menu At Osteria BBR By Alain Ducasse

What’s Buzzing? I checked out the new Sunday brunch experience at Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse in Raffles Hotel Singapore launched last month where you can expect a free-flow concept for 120-minutes. Yes, non-stop feasting for two hours!

I love the space of the restaurant in the day where you get ample natural light, and it makes it a rather uplifting dining ambience suitable for a Sunday afternoon.

There is also a cute outdoor garden should you need to breathe some fresh air.

What To Expect? Expect a series of brunch specials and Italian creations curated by Chef de Cuisine Natalino Ambra. It is a sit-down affair (there is no buffet line) where you can simply order off the menu across the antipasti, pasta, pizza, mains, side dishes and desserts. All portions are unlimited.

My brunch started with antipasti which include the likes of freshly shucked Antilope Oysters, Italian Cold Cuts and Artisanal Cheeses. Go for the oysters which are really fresh!

I also love the Foie Gras on the crispy toast served with the assortment of cold cuts.

The Smoked Beef Carpaccio and Apulian Burrata are pretty good as well.

Moving on to pastas, there are options like Rigatoni Pasta with beef cheek ragout and the Acquerello Risotto with mushrooms. No need for tough decision making, try both.

Don’t miss out on the Peperonata, Nduja topped with egg foam infused with sea urchin.

There are two wood-fired pizzas to choose from, both tomato base, though I recommend skipping it and head straight for the mains instead as the pizza portion is a regular size.

From the mains section, my favourite the Maine Lobster with bisque sauce, one of the most value worthy dishes on the brunch menu.

Alternatively, I also enjoyed the fresh Atlantic Cod Fish with carrots and orange sauce.

Other heavier meat options include the likes of Lamb Chops and Black Angus Beef Tenderloin

A selection of greens are also available such as the Grilled Asparagus and Arugula Salad

Desserts include the classic Italian Tiramisu, and a selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets. Expect the likes of Mousse Al Cioccolato, a rich chocolate mousse made from Alain Ducasse’s chocolate; homemade Buckwheat ice cream; Fragola e Pistacchio, homemade pistachio ice cream laid on a bed of strawberries. I am simple when it comes to dessert, hence my favourite is the rich homemade pistachio ice cream!

In terms of beverage, choose from two free-flowing beverage package – ‘Brunch Venzia’, which includes NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve at S$198++ per guest, or ‘Brunch Milano’, which features NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose at S$228++ per guest. Both packages include a selection of additional wines, cocktails, and drinks.

Overall Experience Not the full fledge Sunday brunch buffets like other hotels, Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse focuses on Italian dishes and the most entry level ‘Brunch Roma‘ (S$168++ per person) comes with unlimited wines and cocktails. Head here if you are in for a drinking Sunday for the most value, and if you fancy, go for the champagne packages.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
