New Restaurants

Cenzo
When Chef Drew Nocente announced the closure of Salted & Hung, it surprised the foodie world. Fast forward few months later, Cenzo restaurant opened in the buzzing Club Street. Located in a charming shophouse, Cenzo is Chef Drew’s take on Italian cuisine with Australian touches together with AC Concepts. The menu takes on a more fun and causal approach where the dining concept leans towards sharing plates and communal-style dining. Bread & Snacks, Small Plates, Pastas, Mains, Vegetables and Desserts – there are a few dishes under each category and the best way to enjoy a meal here is to share the dishes (and calories).  [Read more here…]

Gyutan-Tan
Located in Tras Street, Gyutan-Tan is a new Japanese restaurant and Singapore’s first-ever gyutan (ox tongue) specialty restaurant. The menu features gyutan served in different ways, and there are also pork and chicken dishes if you are not into ox tongue per se. The lunch sets are quite value for money as each set comes with sides like mugimeshi (a mix of rice and barley), two kinds of Japanese pickles, salad paired with a lemon olive oil dressing, tororo (grated Japanese mountain yam), as well as a choice of oxtail or miso soup. Full Circle by J.man
Located along Leng Kee Road, Full Circle by J.man is a relatively under-the-radar restaurant near Redhill MRT Station in a building which was formerly Thye Hong Biscuit confectionary factory, now Thye Hong Centre. Full Circle by J.man is a semi-fine dining restaurant which serves Progressive Asian Cuisine by Chef Jay Teo who was previously head chef of the now-defunct Cheek by Jowl and Cheek Bistro. There are only set menus here where the 5-course lunch menu is at S$98++ while the 5-course dinner menu is at S$168++ per person. [Read more here…]

Located right beside Jinhonten, Kissajin at Shaw Centre is a new causal Japanese Omakase restaurant by the Les Amis Group. SYIP
SYIP first opened last June in Farrer Park and was instantly a hit in the neighbourhood with its minimalist space and soothing aesthetics. The popular café which was started by a pair of sisters just opened a new second outlet in Bendemeer at Luzerne building, just few minutes’ walk from Boon Keng MRT Station. Ocean Restaurant Reopened With Revamped Interior And Menu
Located in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), Ocean Restaurant reopened recently after a revamp of its space and menu. Having been to Ocean previously, I love its new interior, which is much more elegant, sleek and aligned with the new fine-dining culinary direction. Chef Patron Olivier Bellin, the chef-owner of two Michelin-starred L’Auberge des Glazicks, is behind Ocean’s new menu which is modern European fine-dining. Born and trained in France, Chef Olivier Bellin signature dishes often reflect a hint of his hometown Brittany. The menu revolves around responsibly sourced seafood and locally farmed produce which echoes the S.E.A. Aquarium’s dedication to ocean conservation. [Read more here…
