Miyoshi By Fat Cow
A concept by Fat Cow, Miyoshi means 三好 in kanji, meaning ‘three graces’ which showcases three types of Japanese dining experiences – ramen, teppanyaki and omakase. Located in a beautiful colonial style conservation building in Sentosa at the Mess Hall section beside The Outpost Hotel, you can choose how you wish to dine at Miyoshi where I tried the Teppan-Kaiseki menu. The highlight of the Teppan-Kaiseki Lunch Menu (S$98++) is live lobster, while the Dinner Teppan-Kaiseki (S$280++ and additional S$78++ for a 4-glass sake pairing) is an exquisite 11-course experience. Set lunches (from S$32++ to S$168++) are also available from Wednesday to Sunday which is mostly curated from the a-la-carte, served with selected sides including braised burdock, chawanmushi, miso soup and dessert. [Read more here…]

Two Men Bagel House Joo Chiat
The popular bagel brand in Singapore needs no further introduction with the opening of its fourth outlet in the buzzing Joo Chiat Road just few days ago. The Joo Chiat outlet is a proper dine-in concept in a canteen like style, with Joo Chiat exclusive items such as Bagelwiches (think Bagel & Sandwich) where the Firebird, a combination of hot fried chicken with brussels sprouts, seaweed and garlic is delicious. Coffee by popular Melbourne coffee roaster brand St. Ali is another highlight.

A newly opened contemporary Korean restaurant along Amoy Street, the cuisine at Onmi is a contemporary take on Korean food such that it still retains its Korean authenticity. The space of the restaurant is elegant and minimalist, where the menu evolves frequently to showcase flavors of Korea, with a focus on fresh Korean ingredients air-freighted on a weekly basis to Singapore. There is only dinner service at the moment, and it only serves a tasting menu priced at S$135++ per person.  [Read more here…]

Province
Tucked within the same space as the equally new 808 Eating House, the dining concept of Province by chef-owner Law Jia-Jun is contemporary Southeast Asian concept. The eight-seater space is cosy and is an intimate counter seating from a large teakwood dining table. It is a S$138++ seven-course prix-fixe menu here where the dishes are inspired by Chef Law’s travels to neighbouring countries like Malaysia and Thailand, so you can expect ingredients used from these regions. The menu is refreshed seasonally every three months, and include common produce like carrots and sweet potatoes, buah keluak, coconut, and soursop.  [Read more here…]

After a successful opening in Springside Walk at The Brooks for Friends Cafe HK (朋友冰室) in 2021, Friends Kitchen HK (朋友小厨) at Neil Road is the newest casual HK teahouse restaurant concept by the same husband and wife duo team. It is a two-storey shophouse space at Neil Road for the casual Hong Kong style ‘char can teng’ teahouse. The main difference of Friends Kitchen HK and Friends Cafe HK is that the new Friends Kitchen HK focuses more on classic Hong Kong “Da Pai Dang” (大排档) dishes like Stir-fried Beef Cube In Wasabi Sauce and Braised Pork Belly With Red Beancurd Pot.  [Read more here…]
