Food Review: Boeuf Singapore At Telok Ayer Street | Casual & Affordable Steakhouse In The CBD With 3-Course Set Lunch At S$29.90++

The Place Located in Telok Ayer Street, Boeuf restaurant has been around for a few years but I only managed to check it out recently last month. The steakhouse restaurant occupies a two storey shophouse space with an elegant interior design. Level one of the restaurant exudes a buzzing dining ambience, while level two is slightly cosier especially if you managed to snag the tables right beside the window.

The Food There are various breeds and cuts of beef at Boeuf from dry aged grass-fed Welsh ribs to Argentinian Aberdeen black Angus to Australian wagyu MB7. There is a mix of set meals for lunch and dinner, or you can also opt for the ala carte menu. The three-course Set Lunch is priced quite reasonably at S$29.90++ per person. On weekends, there is an all-day 2-Hour Free-Flow Argentinian Black Angus Ribeye at $48++.

I had the three-course Set Dinner (S$59.90++ per person), where my meal started with the appetiser where I had the Burratina Di Puglia – Roasted Vine-Cherry Tomato, Chutney Crostini Roasted Pine Nut, Truffle Balsamic Reduction. The portion is relatively big, and the cheese flavour is quite fresh too.

The other appetiser option is the Signature Beef Carpaccio which uses Australian F1 Wagyu MB6 Tenderloin with truffle vinaigrette and parmigiano-reggiano cheese.

For mains, there is a choice between the Argentinian Ribeye Steak (200g) or USDA Prime Sirloin Steak (200g). Both cuts use Black Angus beef served along with Seasonal Vegetables, Celeriac Puree and Kampot Pepper.

200g is a pretty decent portion for one pax, and I must say these two types of steaks are pretty decent quality for the price. You get a rich, beefy flavour where there is not so much of a fatty flavour as the lean meat proportion is quite high.

For dessert, I had the Classic Crème Brulee served along with Madagascar Vanilla and Mixed Berry Compote.

Alternatively, there is also the Homemade Tiramisu (S$13) from the ala carte menu if you fancy something else.

Rants Nothing much of a surprise in terms of flavours for the dishes I had in general.

Will I Return Again? For a casual steakhouse meal, Boeuf is one to consider in the CBD. The dining ambience is relaxed, and it is ideal for small group meals or couple date nights at a price point within S$100 per person. The set lunch is quite a good bargain at least.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
