The Place Casual, Chill-lax, American diner, that’s what Mustard Incident has made The Rockin’ Diner to be. The latest food outlet along Club Street, adds on to the options for after-work binge eating and drinking in town for the “hardworking” CBD crowd.

*The Rockin’ Diner has closed at 11 Club Street and since opened at 83 Club Street as The Mustard Incident.

A highlight of The Rockin’ Diner is the graffiti on the walls and the various art works on display; these are from the owner’s fellow school mates, providing a space for them to exhibit their creativity.

The Food Its American food. Burgers. Hotdogs. Meats. Basically, rock your way here to sin!

We have all heard and ate Spam Fries ($9.99), indulged in it and felt a whole lot of guilt later. Why stop there though? Rockin’ Diner introduces the Bacon Fries ($12.99). This is the probably the ultimate sinful bites, still don’t we all live to eat?

One other new item to hit the menu in recent weeks is the Philadelphia Cheese Steak (15.99), basically a sandwich of filleted steak with caramelised onions and 3 cheeses! It’s hard not to love this, especially when the ciabatta bread gets slightly soggy with the melted cheese – which the panda loves.

It’s American, but they fancy Italian fare too! Think of New York Pizza, yeap! At Rockin’, Little Italy’s Killa’ Lasagne ($15.99) combines The Mustard Incident’s best-selling bean-less chilli together with generous portions of the 3 cheeses again (cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan). A very decent Lasagne for a hearty meal.

What’s Rockin’ without its sister eatery Mustard Incident’s Hotdogs? Try its signature The Frankenstein ($11.99) dog, which combines both the Beef and Pork sausages with its homemade chilli sauce. This probably sums up as the best dog here.

We managed to bite into a “Yet-to-be-named” Hotdog, which includes Pan-grilled Foie Gras with a beef sausage. Supposedly a lady’s favourite, guys will be craving for it too. We are not sure when this item will officially be launched, hopefully soon by your next visit!

Their desserts, such as the Nutella-misu ($6.99) don’t quite hit the right notes unfortunately. Of course, if you are a fan of Nutella, this might still be worth a try. They do have random creations which are currently not on the menu yet, so do check it out with the waiters on its latest dessert offerings. At least the Peanut Butter Tart we had during our visit blew us away.

Rants Don’t sit near the kitchen if you can’t take the slightest heat. I do pity the kitchen staff as with every swing of the kitchen door, the smoke fuming out from the small enclosed space looked terribly like a smoke furnace.

Will I return again? I do work just round the corner of Club Street, and whenever the craving for some true American food comes along, I am likely to head over to The Rockin’ Dinner and down the food with a well-stocked selection of beer and cider to unwind after a day of hard work.
