Champion Bolo Bun
This is a new 3-storey Bolo Bun concept store along 92 Tanjong Pagar Road, and I was really excited to check it out. Beautiful shophouse space with minimalist, Japandi interior. Level one of the store is dedicated to the ordering counter and waiting area, while the proper dine-in is on level 2 and 3. The Bolo Buns are freshly baked and there is a considerable waiting time for it to be served. Located in Bukit Pasoh on the second floor of a heritage building, I was keen to check out Clos Pasoh upon reading that it is helmed by Head Chef Louis Pacquelin, a protege of Alain Ducasse. The name Clos means a “walled vineyard” in French, while Pasoh is a reference to Bukit Pasoh. The interior of the restaurant is contemporary chic, with different zones from the Dining Room to the Terrace, Wine & Cheese Room and Chef’s Table. Alas, I didn’t have that great a dining experience. Originating from Tochigi, Japan, Sen-ryo opened its first Singapore outlet in Ion Orchard last month. The brand is known for authentic Japanese cuisine that is crafted by a team of shokunin (artisan chefs) and uses quality ingredients imported from Toyosu Fish Market and around the world. Seafood is one of the main forte of Sen-ryo especially for tuna, with other sushi dishes on the menu. The dishes are generally premium but at pocket-friendly prices. Talk about affordable-luxury.

Located within Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore, I visited Greenhouse restaurant recently, an all-day dining multi-ethnic restaurant serving cuisines from five different kitchens. This is one property I have been keen to check out as it is also the first luxury resort in Singapore by the Thai brand with direct access to two championship golf courses nestled within the grounds of the acclaimed Laguna National Golf & Resort Club. This is a new Spanish restaurant along Amoy Street, and is helmed by Chef-Owner Jose Alonso. The interior of the restaurant takes inspiration from Madrid and Barcelona in a fine-casual setting. Located at Tanjong Pagar, Syohachi Yakiniku is a new Japanese Yakiniku restaurant from Hong Kong. Focusing on buffet sets, the restaurant has tiered pricing for its premium 2-hours Japanese A5 Wagyu Buffet starting from S$70++ per pax for the early birds, to S$80++ during peak dinner hours between 7pm to 11pm. Taste Of Korea 찐 (JJIN)
This new Korean restaurant offers Korean barbecue meats and authentic Korean dishes run by a Korean culinary team. The shophouse setting of the restaurant is narrow and long, where each table comes equipped with its ventilation system and stove. Five Oars Coffee Roasters
Located at Upper East Coast Road, Five Oars Coffee Roasters finally opened its doors few days ago. It used to be at Tanjong Pagar Road, and its new space is much more spacious with both indoor and outdoor seats. Expect lush setting throughout the cafe, Instagrammable corners and pockets of natural light at certain tables.

Michelin-Starred Cantonese Restaurant Jiang-Nan Chun Introduces New Chef Signatures Menu
The one Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Jiang-Nan Chun in Four Seasons Hotel Singapore has a new Executive Chinese Chef Albert Au, along with the introduction of Signatures by Executive Chinese Chef Albert Au since 1 April 2021. Chef Albert Au has almost three decades of experience in various prestigious Chinese restaurants across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, and he has introduced a degustation of culinary signatures, available for both lunch and dinner. Origin Bar & Grill At Shangri-La Hotel Singapore Introduces New Menu
Alert for cocktail lovers, there is a new cocktail menu at Origin Bar. In addition, the adjacent Origin Grill also has also introduced new dishes recently. Origin Bar conceptualised its cocktail menu based on the historical anecdotes of the five distinctive districts in Singapore – Orchard, Chinatown, Little India, Boat Quay and Marina Bay. The latest menu showcases 18 brand new concoctions and introduces a new neighbourhood – Balestier. Gor Origin Grill, go for the Origin Beef Platter (S$238) which showcases chefs’ choice of two cuts from both Origin Angus and Chef’s Cuts selections. The cut which left a deep impression on me is the Olive Craft Wagyu from Hata Farm in Kagawa, Japan. As the smallest prefecture in Japan, the area is renowned for producing olives. The olive-diet of the cattle results in beef with exceptionally high levels of oleic acid that brings a rich and buttery flavour to the beef.

Shang Palace Marks Its 50th Anniversary With A Celebratory Menu
This April, Shangri-La Singapore and Shang Palace celebrate their 50th anniversary and as part of the anniversary celebration, Executive Chef Mok Kit Keung of Shang Palace has a special two-month celebratory menu from 23 April – 30 June 2021. A highlight for this period only will be three specially commissioned dim sum pushcarts, from which the Shang Palace team will serve a curated selection of 50 steamed, baked, and deep-fried ‘old-school’ favourites. Love that nostalgic order sheet, we love the Steamed Siew Mai with Quail Egg, Traditional Steamed Buns With Roasted Pork Belly and Yam and Steamed Pork Dumplings and Shrimp with Coriander!
