Food Review: Eden Restaurant At Pullman Singapore Orchard | Gorgeous Glasshouse Restaurant Tucked Away In Orchard Road

The Place Located in Pullman Singapore OrchardEden Restaurant is a gorgeous and hidden restaurant tucked away from street level.

As the main restaurant of the new Accor property at level four, I love the interior of Eden Restaurant which boasts a lush glasshouse interior along with plenty of natural light in the day when I had the chance to check it out during my stay at the property this month.

The restaurant is relatively huge and spacious, and there are different pockets of seating layout well-suited for various group sizes. It also overlooks the outdoor swimming pool and P.S.O. Beach Club.

The Food The cuisine at Eden is modern Asian where you can expect highlights like Satay Lamb Rack, Steamed Atlantic Cod Fillet, Lime Ribeye Steak, Tuna Ceviche with Ikura, Thai Papaya Salad and others.

I started with the Tuna Ceviche (S$26), where yellowfin tuna is steeped in citrus and served with kaffir infused coconut cream, finger lime and topped with ikura.

The namesake Eden Crab Cakes (S$30) is another appetiser worth trying where the flavour is elevated with mixed herbs, spices and chilli lime aioli.

For mains, the Szechuan T-Bone (S$138 for 2 people) caught my attention as I rarely come across steak marinated with Szechuan spices. The tender grain-fed beef here is seasoned with Szechuan peppercorn and salt. The taste is not spicy, but rather more of the “ma” or literally the numb flavour profile.

The portion is good for even 3 people to share, as I feel that it is better to balance this heavily flavoured steak with another main dish.

Therefore, I also had the Steamed Atlantic Cod Fillet (S$42), a decent rendition of cod fish where it is steamed in banana leaf and served with cherry tomatoes and fermented black beans. This relatively light main dish is a good balance to the Szechuan T-Bone.

For desserts, there are options like the White Sesame Hokkaido Milk Puff (S$16), where fried sesame puffs are filled with creamy Hokkaido milk and served with a lemon curd. This dessert did not quite work for me as I find that the combination of ingredients here did not complement well.

Comparatively, I personally preferred the Coconut Pandan Tart (S$14) where the pandan cream is paired with coconut caramel and kaffir lime ice cream.

In terms of beverages, the cocktail programme at Eden has been designed in partnership with Orientalist Spirits where you can expect Asian ingredients such as Spice Pineapple, Roselle and Oolong Tea.

Rants Some hits and misses for the dishes for me, and some parts of the restaurant is quite cold. I have provided feedback to the team and hopefully this is a teething issue for now.

Will I Return Again? The flavours are quite adventurous for some of the dishes I had at Eden Restaurant, such as the Szechuan T-Bone. Overall, the gorgeous space outshines the food itself for me and if you are looking for a quiet and beautiful dining space in Orchard Road, this is one restaurant to check out.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
