Food Review: Edge @ Pan Pacific Singapore | One of the best Champagne Brunch buffets around

Meats prepared à la minute

The Place After our last visit to Edge at Pan Pacific Hotel, we have been secretly looking forward to our next – especially for their Sunday Champagne Brunch! Needless to rant on more about how cosy the restaurant is, read our previous post to get more updates.

Now, back to the Sunday Champagne Brunch, which is priced at $178++ per pax….. just be warned, this post will be a long one, just like the 4 hours long buffet we enjoyed at Edge. Yes, you read it right, it’s 4 hours long, from 12pm to 4pm.

Edge is part of our list of 8 Sunday Brunch Buffets in Singapore you should not miss.

The Food Unlimited free flow of prestigious champagne brand Veuve Clicquot, this is probably one of the best selling point of the Sunday brunch buffet at Edge. We could not think of a better way to spend a lazy Sunday, sipping champagne and indulging in a wide variety of cuisine. And if you ain’t a big fan of champagne, don’t you worry. From unlimited serving of fruit juices (which includes the standard Orange juice to local delights like Sugar Cane juice), cocktails, and even our favourite gourmet coffee, just take your pick.

There were some variations for the Sunday brunch buffet as compared to the dinner buffet which I previously tried. We spotted the Eggs Benedict station, Grilled Seafood (choice of Mussels, Codfish, Squid and Prawns), Grilled Meat (Pork Collar and Ohmi Wagyu) and even Pan Seared Foie Gras. There is certainly something for everyone in this amazing brunch buffet.

I am used to starting a buffet with Sashimi, so here is my very fresh and fatty Salmon Belly Sashimi – which you could request for.

There was a wide mix of other Japanese Sushi as well, from Tamago Sushi to California Roll. Well, skip this if you want to make your money count! Don’t tell the restaurant we are advising you on this! =P

The live Grill station is not to be missed! The highlight has got to be the Ohmi Wagyu for us, which is one of the most highly acclaimed wagyu selections. Choose the meat you fancy, hand over a table stick to the chef and your order would be served in a minute. Absolutely fuss free, and that means I could proceed on to check out other food while waiting for the grills to be served!

I tried the Ohmi Wagyu which was an almost melt in the mouth palate experience. The grilled Pork Collar was not bad as well for its tenderness.

There was also the normal Wagyu beef cut other than the grilled version. This cut was alittle dry and tough though – stick to the live Grill station!

Be spoilt further by the fired-oven Seafood station – with the freshest selections such as Cod Fish, Mussels, Prawns and Squid.

From left: Mussel, Cod Fish, Prawn. Pipping hot from the fired-oven, cooked in butter and garlic. Who’s not to love this?

As though there was not enough seafood selection, there was also the “Crustacean on Ice” section with Boston Lobster, Crab and a variety of Oysters selections.

The cheese station was another eye opening one for us, given the crazy selection as well as a “live” station where the friendly chef would melt the Swiss cheese on the spot for you!

How could we miss out on Eggs Benedict for brunch?

One of my favourite dishes of all time is Foie Gras, which I was so glad was part of the Edge Sunday Brunch buffet. Never mind the calories, eat first then say.

Even though it was a buffet, the presentation style was not compromised as per usual dining standards. This was one of the details of the buffet which impressed me.

The Duck Ravioli with truffle sauce was worth trying as well. The sauce was really yummy, and it helped that the portion was small so that we had capacity to try more of others!

You can imagine how full tRP was by now, but before we can end any buffet, we have to head to the Desserts station!

The first impression will blow your mind! It’s like walking into an awesome bakery and dessert store and it reads “Take all that your Heart desire!” – not kidding!

Check out the gourmet truffle chocolates, which was so rich in taste. We had a couple. Ok, it was more than just a couple.

The candy selection was insane.

IMG_4833
I rarely see cupcakes at a buffet, who could resist such nicely decorated cupcakes?

IMG_4814
And of course we have macaroons, chocolate, raspberry and lemon flavours – their flavour selections changes with every weekend, so pray you get your favourites when you are there!

We only took a picture of the Red Velvet cake, which was surrounded by even more cake selections!

The Ice-cream flavours were quite diverse, with the likes of Mint Chocolate, Raspberry, Vanilla and Plum.
